China sourcing / Regional procurement guide

China HVLS
supply clusters.

Understand the region. Verify the factory. Build a comparable quote for your next industrial airflow project.

01 / Regional profiles

Two starting points for your shortlist.

These profiles organize sourcing questions around the regions already covered by this guide. Confirm the capabilities and location of each supplier before purchase.

South China01

Guangdong

Export and integrated cooling

Start here when your brief combines HVLS fans, ventilation equipment or a private-label export program. Ask each candidate to identify the factory and the exact products it supplies.

Enquiry focus

Complete fans, coordinated cooling proposals, export packaging and OEM scope.

Questions for the supplier

Production scope
Which operations are completed at the proposed factory, and which motors, controllers or assemblies come from partners?
System responsibility
If fans and other cooling equipment are quoted together, who owns the layout, controls and commissioning scope?
Export readiness
Can the supplier provide model documents, destination-specific labels, packed dimensions and a spare-parts schedule?

Shipment planning

For a South China shipment, ask the forwarder to compare the actual factory pickup with suitable Shenzhen or Guangzhou-area port options. Agree the named place and trade terms in the quotation.

East China02

Jiangsu / Shanghai

Industrial equipment network

Use this region as a starting point for industrial equipment sourcing and project engineering discussions. Establish whether the contact address is a sales office, an assembly site or the manufacturing location.

Enquiry focus

Industrial project documentation, drive-system selection, controls and service planning.

Questions for the supplier

Factory location
Where will the offered fan be manufactured and inspected, and which legal entity will sign the order?
Drive and controls
What are the exact motor and controller models, and which documents cover the offered configuration?
Project support
Who provides mounting drawings, installation coordination, commissioning assistance and replacement parts at the destination?

Shipment planning

For an East China shipment, compare the factory pickup route with Shanghai or other suitable ports. Confirm the warehouse handover point, inland transport and long-carton handling with the forwarder.

02 / Compare the offer

Give every supplier the same questions.

A common specification makes differences in equipment, delivery and support easier to see. Record missing evidence before comparing the price.

03 / From shortlist to order

A clear path through procurement.

Use the regional shortlist to start the conversation, then build an order around the product and project evidence.

  1. 01

    Define one project brief

Share a floor plan, clear height, mounting information, electrical supply, occupied zones and destination. State the delivery target and any unresolved site conditions.

  2. 02

    Build an evidence-based shortlist

Request the legal and factory details from each candidate. Match the proposed model to its documents and clarify manufacturing, assembly and distribution roles.

  3. 03

    Review the factory and sample

Agree an audit or live factory walkthrough covering the offered product, assembly, inspection and traceability. Define sample approval and component-change rules where needed.

  4. 04

    Agree delivery and handover

Confirm the final model list, packing, inspection records, payment milestones and trade terms. Include commissioning documents, warranty contacts and spare parts in the order.

04 / Prepare your enquiry

One brief.
Comparable proposals.

Send the same project information with every enquiry. Ask suppliers to list their assumptions and return a marked layout with the exact models proposed.

Request a project proposal

Project enquiries through this site follow the commercial inquiry route described in the disclosure. Read the disclosure.

Include in your RFQ

  • Floor plan, floor area and clear ceiling height
  • Beam or support details and site photographs
  • Occupied zones, racks, cranes and nearby services
  • Voltage, phase, frequency and control requirements
  • Destination, quantity and requested delivery date
  • Document language, acceptance and service scope
Review warehouse layout requirements

05 / Common questions

Before you contact a factory.

Which China HVLS supply cluster should I start with?

Start with the project scope. Guangdong can frame an export or integrated-cooling enquiry; Jiangsu / Shanghai can frame an industrial-equipment enquiry. Send the same brief to suitable candidates in both regions and compare the evidence, total scope and service plan. The region alone does not establish product quality or project fit.

Does a Shanghai office mean the fan is made in Shanghai?

An office address identifies a contact location. Ask for the actual manufacturing and inspection addresses, the legal manufacturer and the relationship between the seller and the factory. Use those details to plan any visit and shipment pickup.

Is one region cheaper or faster than the other?

A regional label cannot establish current price or lead time. Compare dated quotations for the same configuration, quantity, packaging and delivery terms. Include inland transport, freight, destination charges, installation and service when estimating the project cost.

Can I source PMSM and gear-drive fans from the same region?

Ask each supplier about the exact drive options it currently offers. Confirm the motor, controller, power data, maintenance requirements and supporting reports for the quoted model. Drive technology should be checked at product level.

What should I confirm before booking a factory visit?

Obtain the full site address, legal entity, visit contact and the operations you will be able to inspect. Agree which proposed models, inspection records and sample assemblies will be available, and check travel arrangements against the actual factory location.
